13 Day Kenya & the Seychelles Safari

Get ready for the ultimate 13-day journey! This unique "bush and blue" safari takes you to the hidden gems of East Africa and the Indian Ocean.

Perfect for wildlife lovers—whether on land or beneath the waves—this adventure starts with an unforgettable safari in Kenya's famous Masai Mara.

Afterwards, you'll unwind for a week on a private island amidst the stunning turquoise waters of Seychelles.

13 Day Kenya & the Seychelles Safari

Day 1 Arrive in Nairobi & Fly to the Masai Mara National Reserve

Karibu Kenya (welcome to Kenya). You’ll be picked up from Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport off your morning flight and transferred to Wilson Airport for your light aircraft flight to the Masai Mara in the afternoon. When you land, you’ll be met by a guide from Serian 'The Original' who will drive you to your camp through the bush, pointing out some of the incredible wildlife that the Mara is so famous for, as you go.

Accommodation: Serian 'the Original' Camp

Meals & Drinks: All meals included

Day 2-3 Explore the Masai Mara National Reserve

Wildlife is most active in the early mornings and evenings of each day, so you’ll likely find yourself up before sunrise game-driving across the vast open plains in search of big cats, elephants, giraffes and other plains game. Breakfast will be served al fresco, under an acacia tree with the rolling Mara plains as your backdrop. You'll then amble back to the camp for a lazy lunch and a siesta before heading out again in the late afternoon.

There are just five tents at Serian 'The Original', making for an intimate and exclusive atmosphere at camp. As well as daily game drives, you can also jump aboard a night drive. You’ll have the opportunity to spot unique nocturnal species. And when you tire of being vehicle-bound, you can stretch your legs on a bush walk or even overnight at a walk-in fly camp.

Accommodation: Serian 'the Original' Camp

Meals & Drinks: All meals included

Day 4 Fly to Nairobi

You’ll take one last game drive en-route to the airstrip to meet your morning flight to Nairobi. On landing, be met and driven to Giraffe Manor. You’ll check in in time for lunch and be able to meet the hotel’s famous long-legged locals and perhaps explore the city a bit if you feel so inclined.

This afternoon, if you can tear yourself away from the beautiful hotel grounds, you can browse the city’s markets, explore museums or local restaurants and the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage. Then rest up, ready for your day of travel in the morning.

Accommodation: Giraffe Manor

Meals & Drinks: All meals included

Day 5 Fly to The Secyhelles

You’ll be up early to get “that shot” of you sharing your breakfast with the hotel’s namesake and enjoy a hearty meal before you board your flight to Mahe. It’s a three-hour flight and a great time to work through the, probably thousands, of photographs you have taken from your time in Kenya. When you land, you will be driven to the nearby Eden Bleu Hotel.

Eden Bleu is just a ten-minute drive from the airport and an ideal stopover en-route from Nairobi to the islands. It has a lovely spot on the harbourside and everything you might expect from a luxury hotel including deluxe rooms with all the facilities, Creole fine dining and a rooftop infinity pool overlooking the bay.

If time allows, we highly recommend lingering a little longer on Mahe, as the island has so much to offer on its own. Speak to your Wayfairer luxury travel specialist about extending your stay on Mahe.

Accommodation: Eden Bleu Hotel

Meals & Drinks: Breakfast

Day 6 Fly to Alphonse Island

This morning, you’ll be driven to the airport after breakfast to connect with a charter flight to Alphonse Island. You’ll spend an hour in the air, cruising in a small plane over the sparkling azure waters of the Indian Ocean and landing on an island seemingly in the middle of nowhere that will be your home for the next week.

This afternoon, explore the island’s rich flora and fauna and settle into your bungalow or beach suite, which is a stone’s throw from the beach and looks out over the vast ocean.

Accommodation: Alphonse Island Lodge

Meals & Drinks: All meals included

Day 7-12 Explore Alphonse Island & The Outer Seychelles

Alphonse Island is skirted by a brilliant white beach and, in the centre, a dense tropical jungle and an old coconut plantation. There are three room types; beach bungalows, beach suites with a private pool or the exclusive deluxe four-bedroom beach villa. Wherever you choose to stay, you won’t be compromising on luxury; even here, on a castaway island, you’ll find air conditioning, a minibar and a Nespresso coffee machine in your room.

You can enjoy your meals in the shared restaurant and bar area, or in the privacy of your own room and each meal is a unique fusion of Creole and Western flavours.

Spend your days snorkelling, diving, fishing and swimming with dolphins and manta rays. You can hire a bicycle and explore the island, meeting giant tortoises, hatching turtles and a range of birdlife. Or simply relax, kick back and cruise the nearby islands and atolls, soaking up the sun and magnificent scenery.

Accommodation: Alphonse Island Lodge

Meals & Drinks: All meals included
